Create voice assistant interface with OpenAI GPT-4o-mini and text-to-speech
Needs changesWhat this workflow does
This AI workflow has 9 nodes and runs when an HTTP GET request hits its webhook URL (plus 1 other trigger). Along the way it connects OpenAI and OpenAI Chat Model.
How it runs
Trigger: When an HTTP GET request hits its webhook URL (plus 1 other trigger).
- Voice Assistant UI (HTML): parses or builds HTML
- Process User Query (AI Agent): runs an AI agent, with model: GPT-4o-mini Model; memory: Conversation Memory
- Send HTML Interface (Respond to Webhook): sends the response back to the webhook caller
- Generate Voice Response (OpenAI): work with audio
- Send Audio Response (Respond to Webhook): sends the response back to the webhook caller
Services it uses
Before you upgrade to n8n 3.0
1 thing in this workflow is removed in n8n 3.0. Fix it before you upgrade:
- AI Agent v1 (old agent modes) in Process User Query (v1.8): replace with Latest AI Agent node (Tools Agent). For SQL Agent, use a Postgres or MySQL tool with a recent AI Agent.
Rather not rewrite it? Many of these flows can be rebuilt in Make (free plan).

Voice Assistant Interface with n8n and OpenAI This workflow creates a voice-activated AI assistant interface that runs directly in your browser. Users can click on a glowing orb to speak with the AI, which responds with voice using OpenAI's text-to-speech…
